About the Festival

The Sunchang Fermented Soybean Products Festival, celebrating the inscription of Korea's Jang-damgeugi (fermented paste making) culture on UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity list and its 20th anniversary, is a representative fermented food festival of Korea that aims to establish Sunchang's identity as a home of traditional fermented pastes and promote the excellence of K-Food to the world. Over 50 diverse programs across 8 categories, including experience programs, cultural performances, exhibitions, and sales, will be held, allowing visitors to taste spicy and savory dishes made with Sunchang Gochujang (chili paste). Special and differentiated experience programs unique to the Sunchang Fermented Soybean Products Festival will also be presented, such as the 'Sunchang Gochujang Royal Tribute Procession' performance, 'Fermentation Nation 1997', and 'Let's Boil, Pound, and Make Meju (fermented soybean block) from Beans'. This year, to celebrate its 20th anniversary, various programs like 'Find the Golden Meju' and 'You and I, Coming of Age' fermented product discount events are also planned.

Teenieping in the Land of Jang Taste, Fermented Youth Frenzy Contest, Find the Jangchu King, Find the Golden Meju, You and I: Coming of Age, DJ&EDM Light Show in Jangnyu Village "Let's Play Zombies," etc. 3. Consumer Participation Programs: Fermented products discount event (20% off) + 10% equivalent gift certificate upon receipt verification 4.
