About the Festival

Hamyang wild ginseng, grown in germanium soil over 500m, is known as a premium wild ginseng for its excellent quality, including dense and firm tissue and high saponin content. It is the first in the nation to implement a wild ginseng traceability system, allowing consumers to accurately know production information. Continuous quality control through wild ginseng guardian activities maintains its distinctive characteristics as a premium wild ginseng. This festival is designed to revitalize the local economy by re-evaluating the meaning and historical value of wild ginseng through festival programs utilizing content that can inherit the history and culture of wild ginseng and wild ginseng diggers, which are fading away, in Hamyang Sangnim Park (Natural Monument No. 154), where the mystery of a thousand years lives and breathes. It also aims to expand sales channels for local agricultural specialties by utilizing the image of wild ginseng, a clean forest product and the county's representative brand, and by operating linked programs with forest, culture, and tourism resources. It is held annually around September to October.
