About the Festival
*The food content for the festival venue below is based on last year's (2025) festival, and the 2026 festival content is currently being updated.*The Yeongam Wangin Culture Festival, which began in 1997, is a representative cultural tourism festival of Korea with 29 years of history, held every spring at the Dr. Wangin Historic Site. Dr. Wangin was at the pinnacle of ancient East Asian cultural exchange. Baekje's advanced culture and Confucian scriptures crossed the Korean Strait to the Japanese archipelago through Wangin, and his teachings went beyond simple knowledge, becoming the fundamental driving force that gave birth to 'Asuka Culture,' the golden age of ancient Japanese culture. Wangin's firm scholarship (學識), the gracefully flowing Yeongsan River, and Sangdaepo symbolize the waves of exchange that spread culture across the sea. Here, we reaffirm that the roots of Asuka Culture lie in Yeongam.
