About the Festival

*The festival content below is from the previous year (2025), and the content for the 2026 festival is currently being updated.* In an area completely lacking industrial or tourism resources, and with a scarcity of special local products or food, the path to survival was through the sale of agricultural and special products produced in Hampyeong, an eco-friendly region. This urgently required invigorating the local economy and increasing the income of the county residents, thus necessitating a means of local promotion. The problem was how to publicize it. The festival was initially planned as a canola flower festival, with the canola flowers blooming across the 33ha riverside area created by the Hampyeong Stream purification project as a backdrop. However, canola flowers alone could not provide competitiveness and differentiation, so the festival was ultimately planned with butterflies as the theme, which best highlights Hampyeong's identity as an eco-friendly region.
