About the Festival

The Gangjin Celadon Festival is a local cultural festival centered on pottery culture, operating with the theme "The Story of Earth, Fire, and People," based on the historical value and production process of Goryeo celadon. The festival is held around the Goryeo Celadon Museum and consists of pottery-making related programs such as celadon wheel throwing experience, wood-fired kiln firing and removal, celadon sales and exhibition, and an exhibition of winning works from the Korea Celadon Competition. For the 54th festival, in addition to experiential programs combining celadon and art, three kids' zones have been set up, considering family visitors with children, and participatory programs including children's experiential programs are operated. This festival is a regional festival focused on pottery culture, comprehensively organizing and operating experiential, exhibition, performance, and sales programs based on traditional ceramic culture.

About the Festival

1. Representative Events: Nameless potter memorial ritual, wood-fired kiln lighting, opening ceremony, celadon wheel throwing experience, national wheel throwing competition, wood-fired kiln removal, Goryeo celadon half-price auction, wind chimes making, celadon mug making, etc. 2. Planned Programs: Dinner with hometown friends, town/village harmony events, national children's folk painting competition, toy exchange and sharing market, children's barter art market, children's supermarket. 3. Experiential Programs: Celadon village foot bath experience, wood-fired wish burning, campfire camp, spring wild vegetable picking, spring flower pottery pot making, 3D puzzle making, art foil art, sand art experience, retro arcade, mini car play, etc. 4. Exhibition Events: Gangjin Celadon sales center, 'Precious Moonlight, Wolnamsa Temple Special Exhibition', exhibition of winning works from the Korea Celadon Competition, exhibition of new products from private kilns and wood-fired kiln works. 5. Linked Events: Gangjin-eup commercial district revitalization event, Dasan family camp.
