About the Festival
The National Heritage Media Art is a cultural heritage festival held annually in various regions across the country, featuring Korea's 'National Heritage' as its theme. It is hosted by the National Heritage Administration and organized by the Korea Heritage Agency. Since its inception in 2021, this year marks its 6th anniversary, and it plans to beautifully adorn the national heritage sites in 12 regions through various programs utilizing the latest ICT technology. In 2026, media art will be presented against the backdrop of each cultural heritage site to re-illuminate its history and maximize its value: Ganghwa 'Goryeogungji Site' and Cheorwon 'Nodongdangsa' in the [Gyeonggi/Gangwon region]; Gyeongju 'Daereungwon Ancient Tomb Complex', Yangsan 'Tongdosa Temple', Jinju 'Jinjuseong Fortress', and Tongyeong 'Samdosugun Tongjeyeong' in the [Gyeongsang region]; Gunsan 'Former Gunsan Customs House Main Building', Yeosu 'Jinnamgwan', and Iksan 'Mireuksa Temple Site' in the [Jeolla region]; and Buyeo 'Jeongnimsa Temple Site', Asan 'I Chungmugong Yuheo', and Cheongju 'Yongdusa Temple Site Iron Flagpole' in the [Chungcheong region].
