DDP Architectural Tour

About the Festival

The 'DDP Architectural Tour' is conducted at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP), focusing on spaces where one can Dream, Design, and Play. It is a free program that allows visitors to explore the history and significance of the Dongdaemun area, where DDP is located, with a guide, centered around the architecture designed by Zaha Hadid. The tour operates daily from Tuesday to Sunday and is closed every Monday, New Year's Day, Lunar New Year, and Chuseok. Operating hours are 1st session 10:30 (Korean), 2nd session 13:30 (English), 3rd session 15:30 (Korean). The tour starting point is the DDP Museum 1F Tour Desk, and the duration is approximately 60 minutes. Participants must be 13 years old (middle school student) or older; those under 13 must be accompanied by a guardian. Participation is available through online reservation or on-site registration. Online reservations can be made via the DDP website (https://ddp.or.kr/?menuno=797), and on-site registration is possible starting 10 minutes before the tour, subject to availability.

Hanyangdoseong/Lighting Tower: Explanation of the history and role of the city wall, and the historical lighting tower and memorial hall of Dongdaemun Stadium. 6. Exterior Panels: Explanation of DDP's exterior aluminum panels and their production process. 7. Grassy Hill: Explanation of succulents and eco-friendly elements. 8. Design Lab: Explanation of the children's space design playground and its internal structure. 9. Sculptural Staircase: Explanation of the design and technology of the spiral sculptural staircase. 10. Design Dulle-gil: Explanation of the structure and utilization of the Dulle-gil (circumferential path). 11. Miraero: Explanation that it is a bridge connecting the past and the present. 12.
