About the Festival

The Bobaesum Canola Flower Festival is a spring flower tourism festival held in Gwanmaedo, Jodo-myeon, Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do. It takes place mainly around the canola flower complex spanning approximately 75,000 pyeong in the Gwanmaedo area, and is an experiential tourism event utilizing Gwanmaedo's natural scenery and tourism resources. During the festival period, various performance events are held, including an opening ceremony, performances by invited singers, the Jindo County Folk Art Troupe, and traditional Korean music performances. It is also a festival that operates visitor-participatory experience programs such as canola flower mini-train rides, canola flower face painting, and traditional play experiences. Related events such as a Canola Flower Road Citizens' Walking Competition and a forest commentary program for the Gwanmaedo exploration trail are also held. This tourism event features photo zones and rest areas created from Gwanmaedo Pier to the canola flower complex, and is a community-participatory festival operating local specialty product sales booths where local residents participate.
