About the Festival

SEOUL LIGHT Gwanghwamun is Seoul's representative light festival, composed of media art and cultural and artistic content that the public can enjoy together. The 2025 SEOUL LIGHT Gwanghwamun will be held under the theme of <Gwanghwa, Breathe with Light>. Seoul is a city that transforms like a living organism, where the movements and stories of countless people gather. Gwanghwamun, at its center, is a symbolic space in Seoul where history and the lives of citizens have continued for a long time, and it is the 'starting point of light' where electricity first came to Korea in modern times, giving light to the city's night. That light went beyond illuminating darkness, changing people's daily lives and culture, and that flow continues even now, creating the rhythm of the city in various parts of our lives. SEOUL LIGHT Gwanghwamun re-illuminates the changes in Seoul with light from where the first light was turned on.
