About the Festival

The Yesan National Heritage Night Tour is a nighttime national heritage cultural event held from Friday, June 12th to Saturday, June 13th, across Yesan County Office and the National Heritage sites. The Yesan region is the center of the Naepo region in the mid-western Chungnam Province, boasting a historical background where commerce and culture flourished actively. Furthermore, various modern-era buildings and cultural heritage sites are relatively well preserved, making it a place where the region's historical value and cultural identity can be confirmed. This event is a cultural heritage utilization program that reinterprets Yesan's representative modern figures, spaces, and lifestyle culture from a contemporary perspective, based on the region's history and cultural assets, and is structured as a nighttime experiential program. Visitors will have the opportunity to experience various exhibitions, hands-on activities, performances, and exploration programs centered around the modern cultural heritage sites remaining in the region, thereby gaining a three-dimensional understanding of Yesan's history and culture.

About the Festival

1. Nightscape (夜景) - Adorn the night with light: Create a beautiful nightscape that will adorn Yesan's night with colorful lights around Yesan's national heritage sites and their surrounding streets. 2. Night Path (夜路) - Protect Yun Bong-gil! : A mission tour to protect young Yun Bong-gil by solving the cipher in Yun Bong-gil's letter and completing missions. - Two Brothers' Night Out: A street performance and participatory experience program held on the streets, themed around the story of the benevolent brothers who represent Yesan. 3. Night History (夜史) - Yesan Night Tour with a Guide: An interpretive exploration program to learn about Yesan's modern cultural heritage. - Moonlight Workshop, My Own Relic!: A workshop experience to create your own relic using artifacts of Maheon Yun Bong-gil as material. - Modern Light over Naepo: An experience to learn about Yesan's cultural heritage and local specialties and create decorative walking lights. - Yesan, the No. 1 Wood Artisan: Experience as a master carpenter (daemoksu) and small wood artisan (somokjang). - Yesan's Masterpiece, Yesan Gakjajang Seal Experience: A hands-on experience related to Gakjajang (engraving master). - Night Scholar's Life Advice: Calligraphy experience. - Writing Wishes for Yesan's Miracle: Wish paper hanging experience. 4. Night Art (夜畵) - Yesan Salon, Modern Costume Experience: Modern costume experience. - Modern Boy & Girl: Modern era costume parade and moving photo zone. - Exhibition 'Time Travel to Modernity': An exhibition to view Yesan's history. - Starlight Flower Garden, My Look One Hundred Years Ago!: Newspaper design caricature experience. 5. Night Performance (夜設) - One Heart Bobusang Play Procession: A procession recreating the Bobusang (traveling merchant) marketplace. - Starlight Cafe, 'Those Were the Days!': An open radio-style cultural cafe. - Starlight Busking: Outdoor busking park. 6. Night Market (夜市) - Starlight Walking Night Market: A night market participating local merchant associations, including a flea market. 7. Night Snack (夜食) - Starlight Food Street: Food trucks, etc., to enjoy night snacks.
