About the Festival
This festival aims to rediscover the value of [Gossam Nori], a representative folk game of agricultural culture, and to create a venue for communication, harmony, and cooperation based on Gossam Nori's unique masculine fighting spirit and enterprising vigor. It is a representative performing arts festival that, along with Seollal, features various folk game reenactments, the Daedong Dan Shimjul Nori (large-scale rope pulling game) where everyone participates, the Otdol Village Goblin Fire Spin (Dokkebi Bul Dolgi), and other traditional folk games on Jeongwol Daeboreum, a traditional holiday. This festival contributes to the revitalization of performing arts, the inheritance and development of traditional folk games, and the promotion of local culture, centered around Gossam Nori, a National Intangible Cultural Heritage representing our region.
