About the Festival

The 2026 World Heritage Namhansanseong Utilization Program consists of 'Haenggung Education Experience', a permanent program at Namhansanseong Haenggung (Temporary Palace) that reflects on historical significance and enhances educational value through various traditional culture experiences; 'OUV Expedition', a storytelling experience program where participants walk along the Namhansanseong fortress walls and become Suwosa (fortress guards) protecting Namhansanseong; 'Namhansanseong, I Expect', a climate crisis response program that protects World Heritage Namhansanseong from climate crisis and teaches the importance of preservation; and 'That Year, Remembering 1636', a participatory lecture program that revives Namhansanseong as a heritage of memory.

OUV Expedition\nA storytelling experience program where participants walk along the Namhansanseong fortress walls and become Suwosa (fortress guards) protecting Namhansanseong.\n- Period: 2026.4.17.(Fri)~6.19.(Fri)\n- Location: Namhansanseong area\n- Participants: Elementary school students and guardians\n- Programs: Receiving the royal command of Suwosa, traditional martial arts training, experience in Namhansanseong fortress defense strategies and gate defense, Suwosa appointment ceremony.\n\n2. Haenggung Education Experience\nA permanent program at Namhansanseong Haenggung that reflects on historical significance and enhances educational value through various traditional culture experiences.\n- Period: 2026.04.17(Fri)~6.19(Fri) / Every Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and public holidays 10:00~16:00\n- Location: Namhansanseong Haenggung\n- Participants: Visitors to Namhansanseong Haenggung\n- Programs: Building a Namhansanseong fortress model, experiencing traditional Namhansanseong clothing, traditional bookbinding experience, making traditional Hanji bookmarks.\n\n3. Namhansanseong, I Expect\nA climate crisis response program that protects World Heritage Namhansanseong from climate crisis and teaches the importance of preservation.\n- Period: 2026.05.25.(Mon)~6.14.(Sat)\n- Location: Namhansanseong area\n- Programs: Namhansanseong climate crisis panel exhibition, upcycling experience/making doorknobs from sock loops, Namhansanseong plastic hunting competition (traditional attire + plogging).\n\n4.
