About the Festival
The 2026 Busan Science Festival is Busan's representative science and culture event, held for two days from April 11 to April 12, 2026, at Halls 1 and 2A of BEXCO Exhibition Center 1 in Busan. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Busan Science Festival, making it the largest science event in the Busan area and an experience-oriented science and culture festival where citizens and youth can participate together. Notably, this year's event is held in conjunction with the Korea Science Festival, making it an integrated science and culture event where a nationwide science festival and a representative regional science event come together. The theme of the event is 'The Taste of Science – AI Also Cooks,' consisting of various exhibitions and experience programs that combine familiar subjects of science and food. Programs are operated in several themed spaces conceptualized around 'taste,' such as Sweet Playground, Refreshing Lab, Salty Lab, Savory Chat Room, and Bitter-Sweet Exploration Room, where visitors can experience science activities, experiments, and exploratory activities. Universities, research institutes, science-related organizations, and schools in the Busan area participate to showcase diverse science experience booths and experiment programs. Science lectures, performances, and citizen-participatory experience programs are also prepared. It is a participatory science and culture festival designed for citizens to easily and enjoyably experience and appreciate science in their daily lives.
