In 2025, with Goryeong-gun's designation as an ancient capital (Godo) of Daegaya, the value of Goryeong-gun, which holds Daegaya's history and culture, has been further enhanced. Furthermore, the excavation of earthenware bearing the name of 'Daewang' (Great King) from the moat of the Daegaya palace site proved that Daegaya was a powerful ancient kingdom, and with the designation of the Jisan-dong Tumuli as a UNESCO World Heritage site, Daegaya's history and culture are important legacies of our history that must be preserved and shared with future generations. The 2026 Goryeong Daegaya Festival will be held under the theme 'Daegaya Reborn: RE-BORN,' aiming to develop into a festival that fosters pride in Goryeong-gun, designated as an ancient capital, through the 2026 Goryeong Daegaya Festival.
