About the Festival
Located in the Sojubang Pavilion of Gyeongbokgung Palace, 'Saenggwabang' was one of the six royal kitchens (六處所) and was also known as 'Saengmulbang' as it prepared desserts and special dishes for the 'King and Queen'. The Gyeongbokgung Saenggwabang program is a paid experiential program structured to allow people today to enjoy royal confections and medicinal teas actually consumed by kings, based on records from the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty.
