About the Festival
Hongcheon-gun boasts the largest area nationwide, with 85% of its land covered by mountains, offering a pristine natural environment. Especially due to its geographical characteristics where altitude increases towards the east, various wild edible greens grow naturally, making it an optimal region for cultivating them. This year, Hongcheon and Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province have collaborated to create a festival where you can experience clean wild edible greens from all over Gangwon in one place. The 7th Gangwon & Hongcheon Wild Edible Greens Festival, featuring a diverse feast of wild edible greens such as crisp Myeong-inamul (mountain garlic) with a pungent aroma and sweet aftertaste, fragrant Cham-dureup (wild aster) that fills your mouth with the fresh scent of the forest when dipped in gochujang, and Um-namusun (Siberian cocklebur sprouts) that become more savory with each bite when served with perilla oil, will be held from May 3rd to 5th at the Hongcheon Sports Complex parking lot.
