About the Festival
Dongmangbong Peak in Sungin-dong, Jongno-gu, holds the poignant story of Queen Jeongsun, the consort of Joseon's 6th king, Danjong. Her traces remain here, having faced separation at a mere eighteen years old and longing for her beloved while gazing at the eastern sky for over 60 years.\nIn the spring of 2026, we aim to transform that deep 'violet yearning' into 'hope and comfort'. The Queen Jeongsun Cultural Festival is held to remember the warm hearts of the neighboring people who silently protected the lonely queen.
