About the Festival

This is a night content that proclaims the value of Apkaksu (a gingko tree) and expresses the flow of a thousand-year history as four seasons, following its designation from a Chungbuk Monument to a Natural Monument. It plans to introduce the history of Cheongju by depicting the seasonal changes of Apkaksu as the flow of time. It aims to present 'Spring of Loyalty' utilizing the story of Mogeun Yi Saek and Apkaksu, 'Summer of Struggle' featuring the recapture of Cheongju Fortress, the first land battle victory in the Imjin War, 'Autumn of Balance' based on the legends of Juseong Fortress and Yongdusa Temple Iron Flagpole, 'Winter of Revolution' containing stories of Cheongju as the center of Donghak, and finally, 'Four Seasons of Hope' encompassing the revitalization of the old downtown area 365 days a year through national heritage.
