About the Festival
The Seoul International Book Fair is an enjoyable book festival where book creators and readers, writers, scholars, artists, editors, and readers gather in one place to share knowledge and information. Celebrating its 68th anniversary this year, the Seoul International Book Fair began as an education expo in 1947 and was elevated to an international book fair in 1995, growing into a hub for book and cultural exchange, as well as diplomacy and trade. Since then, with the growth of Korean culture, art, and academia, it has established itself as one of Asia's leading book fairs, recognized worldwide, and as Korea's largest book festival, it introduces Korean books and culture to the world. The Seoul International Book Fair operates booths for publishers worldwide, organizes programs such as exhibitions and lectures, runs the Korean pavilion at overseas book fairs, and hosts guest of honor events.
