About the Festival
The "Royal Culture Festival" is a festival held every spring and fall at the five palaces in Seoul, including Gyeongbokgung, Changdeokgung, Changgyeonggung, Deoksugung, and Gyeonghuigung, as well as Jongmyo Shrine, which are representative national heritage sites of Korea and embody the history of the Joseon Dynasty and the Korean Empire. Celebrating its 11th anniversary this year, the 2025 Royal Culture Festival presents a variety of programs planned based on royal culture and history. The Spring Royal Culture Festival features programs such as "Time Travel, Sejong" starting at Gyeongbokgung Palace, the main palace of Joseon, "K-Heritage Market" where visitors can experience traditional crafts and food, "Children's Royal Culture Festival," "Old Palace Music Concert - Yeomindongrak with 100 People" held at Geunjeongjeon Hall, and "Gogung Manjeong," an exhibition imbued with the ambiance of royal culture. In the fall, visitors can look forward to diverse programs that make palaces and royal culture more approachable, including "Gyeongbokgung Hanbok Yeonhyang" where guests enjoy wearing Hanbok, Korea's traditional attire, "Humanities Concert," "Donggwol Jangwonseo," and "Everyone's Punggyeongdo 2025."
