About the Festival

The Gunpo Azalea Festival is Gunpo City's representative festival, featuring a rich array of diverse experiences and cultural arts programs centered around Azalea Hill (Cheoljjuk Dongsan), which was directly created by citizens on the barren hills of Sanbon New Town where power transmission towers were built more than 20 years ago. Every year from April to early May, visitors can enjoy over 220,000 blooming azaleas. It is an accessible urban festival, reachable by subway, offering happiness and healing to visitors and participants in the adjacent Car-Free Street and Azalea Park festival venues. Especially for this year's 12th anniversary, the festival will showcase a spectacular opening ceremony on a special stage on the Car-Free Street, Gunpo's specialized products, photo zones to add an emotional touch, various food and experience options, and citizen participation events.
