About the Festival
Yangpyeong Sumi Village is a rural experience and recreational village located in clear-water Yangpyeong. It is a representative experience village in Korea, selected as a 'Premier Village' with top rankings in all categories of rural tourism ratings: experience, accommodation, and food. In 2013, it was awarded the Presidential Award at the 'Korea Rural Village Awards,' and rural experiences are offered 365 days a year with the theme of 'green rural experience.' Exciting programs, utilizing the village's agricultural products and beautiful natural environment as resources, are prepared in various ways according to the season. This winter, the Yangpyeong Ice Smelt and Trout Festival, centered around smelt and trout experiences, will take place again. At the festival venue, in addition to net fishing for smelt and bare-hand fishing for trout, there are also smelt and trout fishing spots. DIY pizza making, steamed bun making, succulent plant crafting, and ATV riding in the wide fields are also enjoyable experiences.
