About the Festival
The Jeongjo Filial Piety Culture Festival, held in the area of Jeongjo Filial Piety Park, is Hwaseong Special City's representative historical and cultural festival, encompassing historical value and family-friendly elements. Visitors can enjoy various performances and traditional experience programs. In particular, the Hyeollyungwon Cheonwon (transfer of the royal tomb) reenactment, which dramatizes King Jeongjo's relocation of his father Crown Prince Sado's tomb to Yungneung in Hwaseong City, known as the most auspicious site in Joseon, is a flagship program symbolically showcasing King Jeongjo's profound filial piety. Additionally, on October 4th, the King Jeongjo Royal Parade, reenacting the 1795 Eulmyo Wonhaeng (royal procession), will depart from Dongtan Central Park, unfolding a grand procession and offering diverse attractions where tradition and modernity harmonize. This festival, held in "Hwaseong Special City," a city of auspicious sites and filial piety, will provide a special time for history, culture, and families to share.
